Hi folks! I’ve been missing in action for a while on the blog front, as you may have noticed. I have been heeding that advice I received on Day 1 of my trip: be careful not to spend more time writing about living than actually living life itself!
The past two weeks have been a fun whirlwind of new experiences for me. After leaving Halifax I visited a friend who’s parents live in a coastal town near Mahone Bay, then I spent a week immersed at Windhorse Farm where I was staying with a couple of folks who opened up a whole new world of radical politics for me, and have since left me reeling as I attempt to renegotiate where I stand in it all. It’s hard for me to write about this just yet since I feel like I am leaving them with more questions than answers. After that, I spent a few days at Wintergreen Farm, where several young families work together to grow food and become more self-sufficient in their lives. There is SO much I want to write about, but unfortunately time won’t allow right now.
Currently, I’m back in Halifax just getting some things in order for the next leg of the journey. Tomorrow morning I leave for the Tatamagouche Free School which will be four days of peer-to-peer free education on topics ranging from Anarchism and Reproductive Justice to Hula Hoop Making! Yours truly will also be running a workshop on Food as a Medium for Social Change. 150+ people will convene on a farm for this event – campfires, ocean swimming, and new friends await! And probably some learning too :)
I am up to date on uploading my photos to Flickr though, so I’ll post them here. It might give you a sense of the past couple weeks for me. I hope to fill in the blanks after the Free School!

The four day free school event sounds fabulous!
